Wonderful Jess. Thank you for that. It is always easy to spot and then separate good spirited and kind actions from those that are destructive, malicious and mean spirited.

I think of an old song that my Mother sang when she was a kid. " Stay on the sunny side of the street!" Linda

Thank you both.

We only get one life, (AFAIK) so it seems only right to make it as good as possible for as many as possible.
Sometimes some of us forget that.

Dalai Lama

Compassion suits our physical condition, whereas anger, fear and distrust are harmful to our well-being. Therefore, just as we learn the importance of physical hygiene to physical health, to ensure healthy minds, we need to learn some kind of emotional hygiene.

Dalai Lama

As human beings we each have a responsibility to care for humanity. Expressing concern for others brings inner strength and deep satisfaction. As social animals, human beings need friendship, but friendship doesn’t come from wealth and power, but from showing compassion and concern for others.

When that gentleman was just a child a man named Iilya Tolstoy handed him a gold watch that was a gift.... bought from the Mayflower Hotels fine gift store in Washington DC and presented as a gift from : "Those who loved Peace".... I believe that that special gentleman still wears that watch... so maybe he got here to the Token before we even did!

Linda

I would like to believe that.

This is a picture that my son shared on Facebook today and I thought what it has to say is quite good.
I hope all of you can enjoy it. Jess

Dalai Lama

Whatever good work you do, you’re bound to face problems and obstacles. Therefore, it’s important to check your motivation. It helps to be truthful and honest. If what you do is good for others, it’ll be good for you too. Once you know your goal can be reached, you should try to follow it through to the end. Then, even if you don’t achieve it, at least you’ll have no cause for regret.

Dalai Lama

Once you develop confidence in your own ability, you’ll be able to make a real contribution to creating a better world. Self-confidence is very important. Not in the sense of blind pride, but as a realistic awareness of what you can do. As human beings we can transform ourselves by our good qualities and reducing our faults. Our intelligence enables us to judge what is good from what is harmful.

Dalai Lama

An affectionate disposition not only calms the mind, it’s good for our physical well-being too. On the other hand, hatred, jealousy and fear disturb our peace of mind, they make us agitated physically and mentally. Such agitation is disturbing, which shows that the need for peace of mind is in our blood.
